Information about the event
Children's Culture Festival | The Circus of the Young People at Lækjartorg
The Circus of the Young People will perform their artistry outside the Greenhouse at Lækjartorg to celebrate the arrival of summer with us. Their superb balancing acts, agile acrobatics skills and general silliness is sure to entertain both the audience and the artists themselves. Each of them has mastered a specific skill of the circus and they will both perform solo and group acts. At the end of the show the audience is welcome to chat with the artists or even try to copy some of their tricks!
The circus group The Circus of the Young People was founded by some of the most senior students of the Hringleikur Youth Circus, with the purpose of growing as interdependent circus artists and take the first steps into the world of the professional circus life.
The groups consist of 10 young persons between the ages of 17-19. Their experience is as varied as their individual personalities and ranges from 1-11 years! Still, all of them share a great passion for the art of the circus.
The Reykjavik City Library is hosting a pop-up library event at the Greenhouse on Lækjartorg from the 3rd - 15th of May. For the duration of the event we welcome everyone to stop by and learn about the variety of services that the city‘s six library branches offer every day. Join us in a celebration of summer for at the library we share so more than just books.
This event is a part of the Children's Culture Festival Programme.
