Book presentation | Riding the Tiger
Saturday May 31st 2025
Join us for a talk about Buddhism in the West presented by Zuzana Ilavska (Slovakia), organized by the Diamond Way Buddhist Center of Iceland.
Zuzana will talk about the book: Riding the Tiger written by Lama Ole Nydahl.
Riding the Tiger is the inside story of the development of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. In his refreshingly unsentimental style, Lama Ole shows all aspects of the work. With breathtaking intensity, he highlights both healthy and unhealthy tendencies in the light of the Buddha's ultimate aim: to bring about the fully developed beings whose every activity blesses the world.
Lama Ole Nydahl is a Buddhist teacher in the tradition of the Karma Kagyu lineage and he has founded more than 600 Diamond Way Buddhist centers around the world.
He is one of the best known western Buddhist teachers and through his activity this tradition is one of the most popular Buddhist traditions in the West.

Zuzana took a buddhist refuge with Lama Ole Nydahl in Bratislava in 1998. She was part of a group of friends who started Diamond Way centers in Slovakia back then. She works for a corporation as a Creative Manager in a packaging design department. Being a graphic designer, Zuzana helps co-edit and co-design Slovak Buddhism Today magazine and Diamond Way book covers. She was asked by Lama Ole to teach in 2009. Zuzana lives with her son in Bratislava just a few meters from a Buddhist Center.

Everyone is warmly welcome.
