Kakó Lingua | Your family on a poster (craft workshop)

Sunday October 22nd 2023

This activity aims to bring parents and children together to co-create and express togetherness through the design of a personalized poster manifesting an important word for the family.  During our time together we will reflect on our common values and illustrate them to complete our family poster. The final result will be a design quality poster that will be a reminder and a symbol of our collaboration.

All ages and languages are welcome to join us, we speak Icelandic, English, French, Polish, Spanish, German, Romanian, some Japanese and we always find a way to communicate and have fun with languages together. The workshop is free and all supplies are provided.

Otilia Martin Gonzalez is a Spanish artist and designer born in Germany and based in Reykjavik. With an education in visual communication and an interest in symbology, her art practice evolves around the unconscious mind and its visual symbolic language as a path for playful self knowledge and curious exploration.

Kakó Lingua events focus on spending intercultural and  inter-generational quality time together using visual co-creation and different languages in a friendly and inspiring environment. We will utilize each others skills and connect using communication beyond language. The events take place at The Reykjavík City Library Kringlan, all supplies are provided and participation is free.  Last, but not least, there is always kakó (hot cocoa) on offer and a multilingual music playlist as our backdrop.
