DesignMarch | Laboratory of Imagination
Welcome to the Lab of Imagination during DesignMarch 2025
The Lab of Imagination is an experimental space set up especially for DesignMarch. The space is a sneak peek into the children's department of the future City Library in Tryggvagata, designed by the interdisciplinary design team ÞYKJÓ.
The Lab space is open to the public during DesignMarch. We encourage children and their families to have fun in the space, try out various prototypes of the design and influence the process by giving feedback to the designers.
The prototypes include obstacle courses, a reading cave, a story forest, cloud cities and a toddler’s sunny valley for the youngest children. Children and their families will have the opportunity to participate in this recent phase of the design process and get a clearer sense of what the redesigned library will offer.
The mayor of Reykjavík, Heiða Björg Hilmisdóttir, will open the Laboratory of Imagination on Friday the 4th of April, between 3pm-5pm. Everyone is welcome!
Open: 3rd and 4th of April, 11am-6pm | 5th and 6th of April, 11am-5pm
