Fabrication | Sashiko

Thursday October 10th 2024

Do you want to turn something used into something new, and enjoy being creative in good company?

Let's have a cosy time, be creative, reuse, and make something beautiful. The facilitator, Sæunn Þorsteinsdóttir, will bring ideas, materials, and all the tools you´ll need for the fabrications.

In this Fabrication we are going to embroider. Sashiko is a traditional Japanese sewing technique where simple, short stitches are used to reinforce cloth. While the stitches are simple and the purpose mundane, the outcome can be both complex and beautiful.

Fabrication takes place in Árbær at 4 pm on the second Thursday each month, and on the first Wednesday each month in Spöngin from 3.30 pm - 5:30 pm.

No pre-registration required and everyone is welcome.
