Postcards to the Future!

Using various prompts such as food, politics, pollution, home, city, animals, we reflected on our wishes for the future and worked on visual representations of the many futures we envision. We crafted our collages onto postcard templates using the library’s magazine archive, excavating from the past and recomposing as an imaginary future.

Our hosts, the Austrian eco-social designer Christoph Matt and Australian writer and anthropology PhD student Christopher Marcatili facilitated this collective postcard workshop to imagine the future 100 years from now.

All postcard contributions will now be sent to philosophy students, which will complement the postcards with written contributions. The series of postcards will be launched in a Zine at the Future Festival at the Reykjavik City Library on 25th of January 2025.
