Release Concert for the Christmas Album "Christmas At the In-Laws" with Leifur Gunnarsson and his band, featuring 8 delightful Christmas songs.
The inspiration for the album came from Leifur’s 40th birthday and all the fuss surrounding having a birthday. Writing and recording a full album of new, original Christmas music was his “cleansing” from that old frustration. Now it’s time to celebrate December, and what better way than with music in collaboration with fantastic partners?
Admission to the concert is free, and everyone is welcome as long as space allows.
Performers at the concert include: Gunnar Hilmarsson, Jóhann Guðmundsson, Jóhannes Þorleiksson, Ingimar Andersen, Diljá Finnsdóttir, Sunna Gunnlaugsdóttir, Scott McLemore, Bragi Árnason, Páll Sólmundur Eydal, Marína Ósk Þórólfsdóttir, Óskar Þormarsson, Kjartan Baldursson, Jón Ingimundarson, Helga Margrét Clark, Jón Valur Guðmundsson, Ingibjörg Fríða Helgadóttir, and Ingrid Örk Kjartansdóttir (and possibly more).
It is fitting to bring a trusted collaborator of many years into the project, and the concert will take place at City Library in Spöngin—the cultural hub of Reykjavík’s suburbs.
