A New Website and Changes to User Service Online

We are launching a new website here at borgarbokasafn.is in the coming days.

There will be some changes to appearance and presentation, but our purpose is the same: to provide an accurate and clear overview of everything that can be found at our libraries, and to make it as easy as possible for users to utilize the library's services.

The scope of the website will be somewhat reduced.

“My Pages” will not be part of the new website. Part of this user service will remain accessible on the library's specific leitir.is site borgarbokasafn.leitir.is. There, you can:

log in with an ID number and password or electronic ID
place holds
renew loans
view loan history
and so on.

Searching the catalog will also be gone from borgarbokasafn.is, but will continue at borgarbokasafn.leitir.is.

The services being removed, that will not be transferred to borgarbokasafn.leitir.is are:

registration and renewal of library cards
and payment of fines

These services will no longer be available online from the Reykjavík City Library for the time being, but will of course still be handled quickly and efficiently as before by staff when you visit the City Library.
