Summer Workshop | Folklores

Tuesday June 25th 2024 - Thursday June 27th 2024

What are Icelandic legends about and where do they take place? What are Icelandic ghosts, elves, sea monsters and trolls like?

In this workshop with ethnologist Dagrún Ósk Jónsdóttir we begin to get to know the Icelandic folk tales, examine how they are structured and speculate on the various supernatural phenomena involved.

We will also take a look at how folk tales have been an inspiration for numerous writers throughout time, both in Iceland and elsewhere.

Then we create our own characters, storyline and progression and finally we write brand new, exciting legends!

The workshop, which runs for three days at 13:00 - 15:00, is for children born 2012 - 2015.

Registration is on sumar.vala.is
