Come visit us!

We offer a diverse selection of books, magazines and other library items, and we are of course always ready to help with finding and selecting material. We encourage you to take advantage of our facilities, whether you want to flip through books or magazines, meet up with friends or throw events. We especially want to highlight The Sewing Corner, where library guests can use our sewing machines to mend their clothes or sew whatever comes to mind. Regular calendar events include our popular Fabrication, event series for creative people,  Handicraft Time, the “Skrifstofan” writing circle, and The Book Club. 

And of course, the coffee pot is always on!

Location and directions

We are located on the second floor of the shopping and service centre at Hraunbær 119. We have plenty of parking and the building has an elevator. Buses no. 5 and 16 stop nearby. For more information, visit straeto.is.
