The books of Swedish author Astrid Lindgren have been considered almost essential in every Icelandic home, as they contain beautiful messages and appeal especially well to children.

Silja Aðalsteinsdóttir, literary critic, translator and editor, talks about Astrid Lindgren and the world of adventure she created in her books, such as Emil of Lönneberga, Pippi Longstocking, Ronja the Robber‘s Daughter and The Six Bullerby Children.
