POSTPONED The Women's Story Circle | Birds of Paradise

Sunday April 19th 2020

Please note that this event has been postponed until further notice.

The Women's Story Circle | Birds of Paradise - Music and Meditative Art Workshop

An art and music-based workshop for women to find a moment of calm and joy. We come together to create a collective artwork with birds as the central theme
The workshop is led by Helen Whitaker, counsellor and musician, and Lilianne van Vorstenbosch, psychologist and artist.

Life can be challenging. Sometimes we need a break and new focus. With musical exercises and simple visual art techniques we would like to encourage participants to be in the present moment, to find peace, calm and joy in a safe environment and with good company. With popular techniques like dot-painting, zentangle drawing, dry felting, collage and rhythmic song and sound we would like to create a new project with the theme birds. Immigrant women do not always have the opportunity to show their true potential. In images of birds we hope they can show their „true colours“ and „beautiful feathers“. We hope women will be excited to express themselves in music and art.

All women are welcome and no special abilities are required.
The workshops are on the following Sundays: 19 January, 16 February, 15 March, 19 April, 17 May 2020, at 1.30 – 5.00 pm
No registration fee.

The workshop on Facebook.
