Music at Lækjartorg

Saturday May 15th 2021

Join us for a multilingual concert in Lækjartorg with Teitur Magnússon and Ingibjörg Elsa Turchi! We will meet in front of the greenhouse in Lækjartorg and enjoy a beautiful time together!

Teitur Magnússon is no stranger to Icelandic music lovers. After a string of releases with pop reggae outfit Ojba Rasta, Teitur stepped into the limelight in 2014 with his solo album 27. The album contained pop music tinged with shades of psychedelia and tropicália, and was followed up with 2018’s Orna to critical acclaim.

The bass player and composer Ingibjörg Elsa Turchi has been involved in the Icelandic music scene for more than 10 years. Ingibjörg has played with many of the nation's most beloved artists, such as Bubbi Morthens, Stuðmenn, Teitur Magnússon, Emiliana Torrini and so on, both in concerts and on records, and also worked in a band at the National Theater. Ingibjörg also performs regularly under her own name with her band.

Please note that the event will take place in front of the greenhouse at Lækjartorg.

The Reykjavik City Library is hosting a pop-up library event at the Greenhouse on Lækjartorg from the 3rd - 15th of May. For the duration of the event we welcome everyone to stop by and learn about the variety of services that the city‘s six library branches offer every day. Join us in a celebration of summer for at the library we share so more than just books.
